Jesus warned him, Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you. It appears that many people in today`s world are ignoring this type of warning. What are possible reasons?

The Law he brings is superior so healing is allowed on the Sabbath too. A soul is far more important than any restrictions. He doesn`t disclose his identity but appeals to the paralytic to be faithful. Sin no more and he obeys. You know how worthy waht I gifted you with is. The man confirms Jesus authority. Like at Cana the servants obeying to his mother. Their awe and obeyance shines back on Jesus so to say. They both speak and act rooted in full confidence in God the Father. It was consistent with the wisdom of Christ to do His miracles so that they might be seen and known by a multitude of people, and especially in Jerusalem, which was the capital of the country and the center of the Jewish religion; and this very circumstance of the healed man carrying his bed on the sabbath day must call the attention of many to this matter, and cause the miracle to be more generally known. First Jesus ask this man; Do you want to be made well? The sick man answered, Sir I have no one to put me... in other words I want to change my difficult situation. but no one will help me. He ask this man to do the impossible , to take up his mat, and walk. Some people don`t want to change in thier lives they are comfortable right where they are, But God can do what you have been unable to do for yourself. But we must be willing to take a step of faith. Second to take up the mat and walk. The implication was, Jesus transformed the sick man, He don`t want to go back his old life. If you follow the Lord, then you cannot make any provision for relapse. After these things,
there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now in Jerusalem by the sheep
gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, "Bethesda,"
having five porches. In
these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or
paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water; for an angel of the Lord went down
at certain times into the pool, and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped
in first after the stirring of the water was made whole of whatever
disease he had. A certain
man was there, who had been sick for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there,
and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to be made well?" The sick man answered
him, "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is
stirred up, but while I'm coming, another steps down before me."
Jesus said to him,
"Arise, take up your mat, and walk." Immediately, the man
was made well, and took up his mat and walked.
Now it was the Sabbath on that day. So the Jews said to him who was
cured, "It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry the
mat."
He answered them,
"He who made me well, the same said to me, 'Take up
your mat, and walk.'"
Then they asked him,
"Who is the man who said to you, 'Take up your mat,
and walk'?"
But he who was healed
didn't know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a crowd being in the
place.
Afterward Jesus found
him in the temple, and said to him, "Behold, you are
made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you." The man went away, and
told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
